Welcome to Your Excel Dictionary!
My name is Emma Chieppor, the founder of Excel Dictionary. I graduated from Ohio State University in 2019 with a degree in Actuarial Science and a minor in Business Administration. When I started my job as an actuarial analyst, I knew nothing about Excel and was relying on my peers to teach me and then…. COVID hit. I was a new employee at my company with little to no Excel knowledge and was remote working alone until further notice. Quickly asking one of your coworkers to show you how to do something in Excel was no longer an option due to everyone being fully remote. After receiving multiple advanced Excel projects to complete with little to no Excel knowledge, I became very overwhelmed very fast. I then spent the next few months googling all the ins and outs of Excel and taught myself as much as I could about Excel. My Excel skills quickly grew, and I began to take on building advanced Excel models for my company. What used to be the most stressful and agonizing projects I was given, now turned into what I enjoy most and am most comfortable doing.
I created Excel Dictionary to help others that are feeling the same way I did when I first started my job. My mindset has completely changed since learning Excel. I used to dread working with Excel and would have rather done anything else other than the Excel projects I was given. Now, I enjoy the work I am doing and am more comfortable now that I have mastered Excel. Learning Excel has not only made me more confident and efficient at my job, but it has also made me stand out from others! My goal is to help you do the same.
